If you were in possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana, you will be charged with a misdemeanor crime and could face up to one year in jail with a maximum fine of $1,000. Any more than 20 grams is considered a felony and you could be spending anywhere between five and fifteen years in incarceration and pay a maximum of $15,000 for your penalties.
